- Field Day: an annual event that takes place in June after EOGs. A celebration of the end of year with fun acitive games and activities. Parent volunteers are needed.
- Super Fit Kid Program: This is a voluntary extracurricular activity for students at FWES. The program supports the objectives of the PE program and the Healthy Schools Initiative. Successful students are balanced. Not only do they work from home on their reading, math, etc… but they also work on being physically active and making healthy choices towards optimal health. Successful students also work towards being independent. They are self motivated to work towards the achievement of their potential. Students who choose to work in the Super Fit Kids Program will spend time during their day making conscious choices to be physically active, make healthy food choices, as well as other healthy choices (sleep, safety, social/personal relationships, etc…).
- The Workouts: There are 44 workouts. Each workout is named after a classroom teacher or staff member. Workouts are grouped according to grade level. Workouts are progressive. Students will be given instruction on exercise technique during PE class. Students will also be given the first ten minutes of each PE class to work towards personal fitness goals either through teacher or student led activities. All students are encouraged to start from Kindergarten classroom teachers and work their way up from there (Administrator workouts should be done towards the end) but do not need to go in the order listed. Students in kindergarten through second grade only have to complete all of those teacher’s workouts, however, students in grades 3-5 must complete all teacher’s workouts. Follow the link below to the workouts:
